Why is this project necessary?
The culvert beneath Chapel Road has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement to maintain safe roadway conditions and proper water flow at Wootenaux Creek.
Replacing the structure now helps prevent future roadway damage and ensures the crossing remains reliable for years to come.
When will construction occur?
Construction is expected to begin on or about March 27, 2026, and will take approximately five months to complete.
The road is anticipated to reopen on or about August 11, 2026, weather permitting.
Will the road be closed?
Yes, Chapel Road will be closed to through traffic between Black Dog Alley and Gannon Road during construction.
What is the detour route?
