Key Dates

The Community Survey launched, which identifies areas of interested from the public. 

Staff and Consultants (Wallace Montgomery) presented the plan process and timeline to the Talbot County Planning Commission. 

The Steering Committee will host monthly meetings, which will identify specific areas to focus on in the update and staff will work to make necessary changes with input from the public, stakeholders, etc. 

Throughout the process, the team will host a series of a public hearings and listening sessions. These sessions of tentatively scheduled for the following months: 

• August 2025
• November 2025
• March 2026
• July 2026

Specific dates, locations, and topics are to be announced. 

After the state's review, the staff will review comments from the State's review, make adjustments and prepare final version to be voted on by County Council. 

By October 2026, the Council will have received a final draft of the update, and be ready to vote and enact the 2026 Update to the Comprehensive Plan. The plan goes into effect immediately after the final vote.
